The project is designed to house approximately 1,600 residential units, with a portion designated for social housing.<\/p>\n<h4>Structural Damage Reported<\/h4>\n<p>Firefighters received the first reports of falling debris at 8:00 a.m. local time. Upon arrival, crews discovered bent columns on the 21st and 22nd floors, as well as floor collapses between the 21st and 26th levels. No injuries have been reported.<\/p>\n<h4>Risk Assessment and Safety<\/h4>\n<p>Engineer Matthew Roblez told CNN that while there is a risk of localized collapse, the building&#8217;s overall construction precludes a total structural failure. NBC News reports that the building has remained stable since noon local time, with no further movement detected by fire crews.<\/p>\n<h4>Official Response<\/h4>\n<p>New York City Mayor Eric Adams emphasized that the building remains unstable and that public safety is the top priority.
