POLAND 2050 LEADERSHIP CRISIS: HOŁOWNIA STEPS BACK

Szymon Hołownia steps back from Poland 2050 leadership, handing responsibility to party members amid ongoing leadership elections.

Hołownia’s Statement on Leadership Transition

On Monday (January 19), Szymon Hołownia posted on social media: “From what I’ve noticed, information about the internal life of Poland 2050 has been provided to you in real time, but allow me to add my own episode to this series.” He added: “I informed the National Council members today in a friendly message that the decisions of the Candidates running for the Chairperson’s position lead me to hand over to them full responsibility for the next decisions concerning the party.”

“The foundation of my thinking has always been, and remains, the coherence of the K15X and the permanence and durability of the Parliamentary Club. After all, we still have so much together to accomplish. I will wait until the ‘Bridge over the river of events’ is empty. And then we will surely be given the opportunity to sit down again, to talk again with goodwill, and then to work together and well for Poland. Good luck in the elections,” added Szymon Hołownia.

On Monday at 6:00 PM, the National Council of Poland 2050 will meet. The deliberations are to be held online again. The chairman of the Poland 2050 club Paweł Śliz, when asked by Polish Radio about possible scenarios and the situation in the party, which cannot elect its leader, said that it is nothing strange if the organization is guided by democratic principles.

Party Emphasizes Democratic Process

“I am glad that everything is taking so long, because it has moved our people, who are talking about it widely,” Śliz emphasized. He added that there are not many parties where there are several candidates for chairman, and in Poland 2050 there is full pluralism.
