Poland Deports Ten Georgians Amid Security Concerns

Border Guard sent ten Georgians out of Poland on December 17, citing criminal convictions and a lack of legal residency, as officials said they posed an internal‑security threat.

Seven Convicted, Three Unlawful Residents

The Interior Minister announced that ten Georgians were removed, after Border Guard records showed seven were convicted of robbery using a dangerous tool, theft, driving under influence, and drug possession—all offences committed in Poland. Two had no valid documents, and one appeared on a list of unwanted foreigners.

Operation Details and International Cooperation

Deported under a German‑led operation in cooperation with Frontex, the Georgians were taken from foreign‑resident centers to the Łódź Border Guard post and flown to Tbilisi on a chartered aircraft on Wednesday, December 17. The operation was the fifteenth this year, during which more than 9,000 foreigners left Poland, including 2,100 under compulsion.
