A new United Surveys poll conducted March 27-29, 2026, shows over half of Polish respondents do not view the United States as a reliable security guarantor.
Government Coalition Voters Most Skeptical
A significant 77 percent of voters supporting the ruling coalition do not consider the United States a credible security guarantor for Poland, with 42 percent stating this “definitely” and 35 percent saying “rather not.” Only 21 percent express optimism regarding U.S. reliability.
PiS Voters Remain Most Trusting
Voters of the Law and Justice (PiS) party demonstrate the highest level of trust in the U.S. alliance, with 87 percent viewing the United States as a reliable partner. Notably, no respondents within this group answered “definitely not.”
Opposition Voters Show Greater Confidence
In contrast to government coalition voters, 65 percent of opposition supporters trust the U.S., while only 35 percent are skeptical. Among other voters, 38 percent view the U.S. positively, while 48 percent hold a negative opinion.
Confederation Voters Express Distrust
Voters of the Confederation and Confederation Korona Polska Grzegorza Brauna exhibit significant distrust, with 58 percent not seeing the U.S. as a stable security guarantor, compared to 42 percent who disagree.
Poll Methodology
The United Surveys poll by IBRiS for Wirtualna Polska was conducted between March 27-29, 2026, using CATI & CAWI methods (computer-assisted telephone interviews and online surveys) on a representative sample of 1000 adult Poles.
