Poland is set to become the first nation to sign a loan agreement within the framework of the SAFE program. The agreement has received initial approval from the European Commission and is ready for signing.

Signing Ceremony Details

The loan agreement will be signed by European Commissioners Piotr Serafin and Andrius Kubilius, along with Polish Ministers of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and Finance Andrzej Domański.

Subsequent Agreement with Lithuania

Following the signing with Poland, Commissioners Serafin and Kubilius will travel to Vilnius to sign a loan agreement with Lithuania.

Completion of Written Procedure

According to PAP sources, the written procedure among the Commissioners regarding the SAFE loan agreement for Poland was successfully completed on Monday.

Agreement Content Approved

The content of the agreement negotiated between the European Commission and the Polish government has been accepted, including the decision to grant full powers to Commissioners Kubilius and Serafin to sign the agreement with Poland.

First Agreement Under SAFE

This marks the first loan agreement approved by the European Commission for any country under the SAFE program, with other nations soon to follow a similar process. Lithuania is currently undergoing the procedure as the second country.
