Poland in Trump’s Peace Council: “No Signature Will Be Placed” – Nawrocki

Poland’s head of National Heritage Institute says constitutional procedure must be followed before joining Trump’s proposed Peace Council.

Poland’s Stance on Trump’s Peace Council

The Peace Council was one of the topics discussed during the meeting in Davos between the presidents of Poland and the United States. Previously, Karol Nawrocki stated in an interview with Telewizja Republika that any international agreement requires consent not only from the president but also from the parliament and the government.

Support with Constitutional Conditions

President Donald Trump fully understands this, according to Nawrocki. He noted that Trump’s invitation for Poland to join the Peace Council to resolve global conflicts, including those in the Middle East, demonstrates serious consideration of Poland. Nawrocki emphasized that Poland’s participation in the Peace Council is important and necessary.

“My support for President Donald Trump is unwavering. But before signing such an agreement, it must first go through the entire constitutional procedure,” Nawrocki stressed.

Trump’s Peace Council Proposal

Trump’s proposal for the Peace Council envisions creating a global body for peace and security that formally addresses the situation in the Gaza Strip but with a broad mandate extending beyond the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Invitations to the Council were extended to representatives from approximately 60 countries and organizations, including leaders from France, Germany, Italy, Canada, and Turkey, as well as representatives from the Middle East region.

Concerns have been raised about the scope of authority the Council’s statute would give Donald Trump as its chairman, as well as the fee for permanent membership – one billion dollars.
