Poland Issues Frost Warnings for 15 Voivodeships

Poland’s IMGW meteorological institute has issued first-degree frost warnings for nearly the entire country, effective Saturday evening through Sunday morning.

Weather Forecast for Saturday

Western Poland will remain dry on Saturday, while central and eastern regions will experience increasing cloud cover with intermittent rainfall.

Temperatures will range from a high of around 13°C in the west to 8-10°C in the east, and approximately 8°C along the coast. Winds will be light, becoming moderate on the western coastline.

Saturday Night into Sunday

The night from Saturday to Sunday will be clear, with possible brief showers in the far eastern regions.

Frost Warnings Issued

The IMGW has issued a first-degree frost warning for almost all of Poland, excluding the Lubuskie Voivodeship. The alerts are valid from 9 PM Saturday to 8 AM Sunday.

Temperature Drops Expected

Temperatures are forecast to drop to around -2°C across much of the country, with ground temperatures reaching -5°C. In southern and southeastern districts of the Silesian, Lesser Poland, and Subcarpathian Voivodeships, temperatures may fall to -4°C, with ground temperatures down to -8°C, and locally to -10°C in mountain valleys.

Strong fog and localized, short-lived mists are possible in eastern and southern Poland during the early morning hours.

Sunday’s Weather Outlook

Sunday will see moderate cloud cover throughout Poland, with possible intermittent rainfall in the eastern regions. Maximum temperatures will reach around 14°C in the southwest, 10-13°C in central and eastern areas, and approximately 11°C on the coast.

The coldest temperatures will be around Hel, where thermometers will not exceed approximately 6°C. Winds will be southeasterly, light in the center and east, and light to moderate in the west, with occasional gusts.

Sunday Night into Monday

Sunday night will bring small to moderate cloud cover, occasionally increasing to extensive. Temperatures in western voivodeships will range from 5-7°C, while eastern regions are forecast to experience ground frosts down to -2°C. Winds will be easterly, light in the east, and light to moderate in the west.
