Poland’s Ministry introduces new regulations to boost creation of social service centers nationwide.
Social Service Centers Overview
For over five years, municipalities in Poland have been authorized to establish social service centers (CUS). These units are designed to implement a wide range of tasks and services aimed at the majority of residents, not only individuals and families facing material and life difficulties who receive social assistance.
Current Implementation Status
To date, only 130 social service centers have been established throughout Poland. This limited number has prompted the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy to take action to expand these services nationwide.
New Legislative Changes
The Ministry has prepared an amendment to the July 19, 2019 Act on the provision of social services through CUS (Journal of Laws No. 1818 with amendments). This revision includes regulations intended to encourage and contribute to the establishment of new social service centers across the country.
Future Goals
The new legislation aims to increase the number and accessibility of social service centers, potentially expanding their reach beyond current beneficiaries to serve a broader segment of the Polish population through comprehensive social support programs.
