Poland’s Ministry of Energy announced maximum fuel prices for April 2nd, 2026, with 95 octane gasoline capped at 6.23 złoty per liter.

Maximum Fuel Prices – April 2nd, 2026

The Ministry of Energy has announced the maximum fuel prices for Thursday, April 2nd, 2026. 95 octane gasoline will cost no more than 6.23 złoty per liter, 98 octane gasoline will be capped at 6.84 złoty, and diesel fuel at 7.65 złoty.

This represents an increase in the maximum prices for both types of gasoline compared to Wednesday, while the maximum price for diesel fuel will decrease.

The maximum price for 95 octane unleaded gasoline, including VAT, is 6.23 złoty per liter. The price of 98 octane unleaded gasoline, including VAT, is no higher than 6.84 złoty per liter, and the maximum price for diesel fuel is 7.65 złoty per liter, including VAT.

Prices in Previous Days

On Wednesday, a liter of 95 octane gasoline cost no more than 6.21 złoty (2 grosze less than the maximum price on Thursday), 98 octane gasoline cost 6.81 złoty (3 grosze less), and diesel fuel cost 7.66 złoty (1 grosz more).

On Tuesday, the first day of the maximum price regulations, a liter of 95 octane gasoline cost a maximum of 6.16 złoty, 98 octane gasoline cost 6.76 złoty, and diesel fuel cost 7.60 złoty.

Regulations and Enforcement

According to regulations, the energy ministry publishes an announcement regarding maximum fuel prices every weekday. The maximum price is valid from the day following its publication in the Polish Monitor. If announced before non-working days and holidays, the rate will be valid until the next working day.

Selling fuel above the maximum price is punishable by a fine of up to 1 million złoty, and inspections are carried out by the National Tax Administration.

Price Calculation Formula

The maximum price is determined according to a specific formula, including the average wholesale price of fuels on the domestic market, plus excise duty, fuel fee, a sales margin of 0.30 złoty per liter, and VAT.
