Maximum Fuel Prices Announced
The Ministry of Energy’s announcement on Tuesday sets the maximum price for 95-octane gasoline at 6.21 złoty per liter, 98-octane gasoline at 6.82 złoty per liter, and diesel oil at 7.87 złoty per liter.
These maximum prices will remain in effect from Wednesday through the following days, mirroring the rates established from Saturday to Tuesday.
Price Consistency
The official announcement published in the Polish Monitor on Tuesday confirms the maximum prices for Wednesday: 6.21 złoty for 95-octane gasoline, 6.82 złoty for 98-octane gasoline, and 7.87 złoty for diesel oil, all including VAT.
Wednesday’s maximum prices are identical to those in effect since Tuesday, which have been consistent since Saturday.
Initial Price Implementation
On Tuesday, March 31st, the first day of maximum price implementation, 95-octane gasoline cost a maximum of 6.16 złoty per liter, 98-octane gasoline cost 6.76 złoty, and diesel oil cost 7.60 złoty per liter.
Regulatory Framework and Enforcement
The energy ministry publishes daily announcements regarding maximum fuel prices on weekdays. These prices take effect the day following their publication in the Polish Monitor.
If announced before non-working days or holidays, the rate remains valid until the next working day. Selling fuel above the maximum price carries a penalty of up to 1 million złoty, enforced by the National Tax Administration.
Price Calculation Methodology
The maximum price is determined using a specific formula, incorporating the average wholesale price of fuels on the domestic market, excise duty, fuel surcharge, a sales margin of 0.30 złoty per liter, and VAT.
