Poland to Join Peace Council? Head of Nawrocki’s Office Responds
Zbigniew Bogucki spoke on Polsat News about the Peace Council. Karol Nawrocki was invited to it by Donald Trump. “The fundamental question: in the context of the Peace Council, do we want to be at the table where the most important decisions are made, or do we want to find out what people decide after this meeting, when they leave the table, while we wait in the anteroom and ask: ‘listen, what did you agree on?'” said the Head of the Presidential Office.
“Do we want to be as Poland, as a nation in such a position, or do we want to sit at this table and put Polish interests there, present the Polish point of view, realize the Polish raison d’état? I am absolutely in favor of that, and President Nawrocki also sees it that way, that we should be at this table,” he stated. Asked whether Poland should join the Peace Council and pay a billion dollars, he replied: “As for my opinion, of course yes.” “In my opinion, we must do everything to be there,” added Zbigniew Bogucki.
Kaczyński: No Point for Poland to Join as a Poor Country
As early as January, Jarosław Kaczyński stated that Poland should not only join the Peace Council, but also be its “full” member. “The government must also allocate this billion dollars, because there’s no point for Poland to join as a poor country. We are no longer a poor country today – fortunately – and we should act here as a full member. Today we must be in the best possible relations with the United States. All the more reason we should be there,” emphasized the PiS president.
Let’s recall, a billion dollars is the amount that countries will have to pay to secure permanent membership in the Peace Council. Otherwise, it will last for three years.
