Although artificial intelligence (AI) is expected to transform Europe like electricity once did, Poland may only see half the benefits of EU leaders, according to the latest analysis from the CESifo research group.
Europe Faces Modest AI Evolution Rather Than Boom
While AI is often cited as a solution for European productivity, macroeconomic modeling based on Daron Acemoglu’s (2024) methodology suggests Europe is in for a modest evolution rather than a significant boom. Economic growth from innovation and technological changes is projected at approximately 1.1% over the next five years.
Poland Among Lowest in AI Benefits
In the rankings, Poland falls into the group of countries with the lowest predicted AI benefits. Forecasts for Poland indicate growth of just 0.6%, placing it on par with Romania and Malta, and below the EU average.
