Poland to Participate in New Frontex Rapid Reaction Force for 2026

Frontex will establish a rapid reaction force in Q1 2026 to address variable border challenges and migratory pressures across the European Union.

Frontex Response to Border Challenges

Representatives of Frontex, the European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the External Borders of the European Union, believe that the situation at the EU’s external borders remains so variable that to effectively deal with new challenges, it is necessary to create a rapid reaction force.

Frontex Quick Reaction Force Details

The Frontex Quick Reaction Force (QRF) is to be established in the first quarter of 2026. This force will enable the rapid deployment of significant resources between operational areas.

Purpose of the Quick Reaction Force

The QRF will be deployed in the event of sudden migratory pressure or when a member state requests additional assistance. This rapid deployment capability will enhance the EU’s ability to respond to border challenges.
