Poland Urges Caution After Belarusian Smuggling Balloons Cross Borders

Poland’s police have issued an urgent advisory after detecting dozens of Belarusian smuggling balloons crossing into the country, prompting authorities to secure seven and warn residents to stay away.

Incident Overview

Police and the Operational Command of the Armed Forces received information on Wednesday, December 24 around 9 p.m. that several dozen flying objects had crossed from Belarus into Poland. They are believed to be smuggling balloons.

Police immediately began operations to locate them.

Locations of Detected Balloons

So far, seven balloons have been secured. Four were found in the Podlaskie province and three in Lublin.

Police Instructions for Citizens

Residents are urged to exercise extraordinary caution. Do not approach the balloons or take action on your own.

If you obtain information about a balloon’s location, immediately call emergency number 112 and notify the relevant authorities.
