Poland’s Monetary Policy Council kept the central bank’s main interest rate unchanged at 4% during Wednesday’s meeting.
NBP Maintains Interest Rates
On Wednesday’s concluded meeting, Poland’s Monetary Policy Council did not change interest rates – informed the National Bank of Poland in a communiqué. The main interest rate of NBP remains at 4%.
All Key Rates Unchanged
Also the other interest rates did not change – the lombard rate remained at the level of 4.5%, the deposit rate at 3.5%, the rediscount rate of bills at 4.05%, and the discount rate of bills at 4.1%.
Previous Rate Cuts
Last year, the Monetary Policy Council lowered interest rates six times, altogether by 1.75 percentage points. The last cut took place in December of last year – by 0.25 percentage points; the reference rate then fell to 4% annually.
