Poland’s power grid set new demand and generation records on February 3 but maintained safety reserves while exporting energy to Ukraine.
Record Energy Demand and Generation
Poland’s power system achieved a new peak demand record of 29.3 GW gross on Tuesday, February 3, the second consecutive day of very high energy consumption.
On the same day, the country also recorded the highest power generation in history at 31.3 GW gross.
Regional Stability and Exports
Poland not only managed to meet the high demand but also stabilized the regional energy situation by directing approximately 2 GW of power for export.
According to Polish Power Grid (Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne), emergency energy support was provided to neighboring countries, including Ukraine.
Safety Maintained Despite Records
Despite setting new energy consumption and generation records, Poland’s safety reserve remained intact throughout the period of high demand.
