Poland’s Internal Security Services Ground Drone Over Presidential Palace

Polish border guards apprehended two suspects, a 20-year-old Ukrainian and a 20-year-old Belarusian, after they flew a drone restricted zone above the Polish Presidential Palace.

Drone Incident at Presidential Palace

On Monday night, a drone was spotted flying over the Presidential Palace and government buildings in Warsaw, leading to its quick neutralization by Poland’s Internal Security Services (SOP).

Apprehension of Suspects

Initial reports revealed that the drone incident was handled swiftly, with two suspects— a 22-year-old Ukrainian and a 20-year-old Belarusian—being apprehended at the scene. These individuals were subsequently handed over to the police.

Official Response

The Polish Interior Ministry spokesperson Jacek Dobrzyński emphasized that Internal Security Services had acted correctly and that the Government of Poland remains vigilant in addressing such incidents.

Dobrzyński reiterated the importance of adhering to the rules and regulations regarding drone operation in Poland, citing that the operators should respect prohibited zones and be aware of security measures in place.
