Polish power grid operator PSE presented its 2027-2036 expansion plan Monday, calling for faster renewable adoption than government climate targets.
Accelerated Renewable Energy Transition
On Monday, Polish Power Grid Operator (PSE) presented for consultation the project of the development plan for the transmission network (PRSP) for the years 2027-2036.
The plan assumes a scenario of faster development of renewable energy sources than the update of the National Energy and Climate Plan (KPEiK) developed by the Ministry of Energy.
The assumed pace of transformation is also faster than in the previous version of the PSE document.
System Stability Challenges
However, this accelerated transition brings challenges in terms of system stability and security, with potential issues emerging as early as the coming years.
New Energy Sectors Emerge
Electric transport, heating, and industrial sectors are expected to grow significantly, driven by increasing energy demand.
