Poland’s Ministry of Education announces new minimum salary rates for teachers, effective January 1, 2026.
New Basic Pay Rates
The Ministry of Education has presented a draft amendment to the pay regulation, specifying how teachers’ salaries will increase in 2026. The changes result from raising the base amount in the budget act to 5,597.86 PLN.
The key element of the project is the pay table, which divides teachers based on professional advancement and educational qualifications.
Pay Scale Groups
For the largest group (over 95% of staff), i.e., teachers with a master’s degree and pedagogical preparation, the minimum rates from January 1, 2026 will be specified in the pay table.
Teachers with other education (e.g., bachelor’s degree, master’s without pedagogical preparation) will have slightly lower rates.
Additional Supplements
It is worth remembering that the basic salary is just the foundation. Its growth automatically leads to increases in dependent components such as:
Additionally, teachers can count on other supplements (e.g., motivational, functional, or for working conditions), the amount of which is often determined by local governments.
Implementation Timeline
The regulation will enter into force effective January 1, 2026. After legislative work is completed, teachers will receive appropriate salary adjustments from the beginning of the year.
