Poles Cool on Czarnek as Potential Prime Minister

A recent poll indicates limited support for Przemysław Czarnek as a future Polish Prime Minister, despite his nomination by the PiS party.

PiS Nominates Czarnek for Prime Minister

During a PiS convention held on March 7th in Krakow, party leader Jarosław Kaczyński announced that Przemysław Czarnek, former Minister of Education and National Education, would be the party’s candidate for Prime Minister in the 2027 elections.

Low Public Approval Ratings

An IBRiS poll conducted for Radio ZET on March 13-14 revealed that only 24.9% of respondents view Czarnek as a good candidate for Prime Minister. Specifically, 10.5% considered him “definitely good,” while 14.4% saw him as “rather good.”

A significant 59.7% expressed negative opinions, with 17.2% rating him “rather bad” and 42.5% “definitely bad.” 15.4% of respondents remained undecided.

Gender Disparities in Support

The poll also showed slightly greater trust in Czarnek among men compared to women. 28% of men and 22% of women rated him as “definitely good” or “rather good,” while 59% of men and 60% of women viewed him as “rather bad” or “definitely bad.”

Political Affiliation Influences Opinion

Opinions on Czarnek as Prime Minister are also linked to political views. Only 3% of voters from governing coalition parties (KO, Nowa Lewica, PSL, and Polska 2050) considered him “rather good,” with no one selecting “definitely good.” 7% chose “rather bad,” and 88% chose “definitely bad.”

Konfederacja Voters Largely Opposed

Among Konfederacja voters, 82% believe Czarnek would be a bad Prime Minister, while only 6% think he would be good.

SW Research Poll Confirms Skepticism

A recent SW Research poll for Onet also indicated skepticism towards Czarnek’s candidacy, with 20.7% expressing a positive opinion and 56.8% deeming his candidacy inappropriate. 22.5% were undecided.
