A November 2025 IBRiS survey found that Polish voters prefer Szymon Hołownia in a non‑political position, a preference that may leave him dissatisfied.
Survey: Preferred Role for Szymon Hołownia
A 24–25 October IBRiS poll commissioned by Fakt found that 57% of Polish respondents believe Hołownia would be best suited for a role unrelated to politics. Only 8% see him as Marshal of the Sejm; 7% think he could continue a political career but not as Marshal or Deputy Marshal. Small percentages projected him as Poland’s ambassador to the United States (5%) or a high commissioner at the UN (2%), while 15% were uncertain.
Public Opinion on His Exit from Politics
An earlier October 7–8 poll by SW Research reported in Rzeczpospolita found that 55.8% of respondents favored Hołownia’s withdrawal from Polish politics, 19.7% opposed it, and 24.5% had no opinion. Women were slightly more supportive (58% vs 53% among men), and the inclination to support his exit grew with age from 43% among younger respondents to 60% among older ones.
Potential Paths After Leaving the Sejm
According to the coalition agreement, Hołownia must stop serving as Marshal of the Sejm on 13 November, after which Włodzimierz Czarzasty will assume the position. Hołownia has already announced he has submitted his candidature for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees; Deputy Minister Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski suggested that the Polski 2050 leader could obtain the post.
Additionally, newspapers report that if he loses the UN vote, he may become Poland’s ambassador to the United States.
