Survey Findings on Fairness of Sale
In a survey conducted by Ogólnopolski Panel Badawczy Ariadna for Wirtualna Polska, respondents were asked whether they believed the Ministry of Agriculture’s sale of land earmarked for the Central Communication Port was fair. Only 10 % answered “definitely yes” or “rather yes.” The majority, 64 %, replied “rather no” or “definitely no,” while 26 % said they had no opinion.
Public Opinion on Who Is Affected
When asked who bears responsibility for the sale, 49 % of participants said the previous ruling PiS government. One‑quarter blamed both PiS and the current coalition. Only 16 % blamed former Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s government, and 10 % said no one was to blame. The survey covered 1,066 adult Poles on 30‑31 October via the CAWI method.
Details of the Land Sale and Estimated Value
According to Wp.pl, under PiS the state sold 160 hectares of land to the vice‑president of a private company for less than 23 million zlotys. The land was intended for infrastructure related to the CPK project and could now be worth up to 400 million zlotys. The sale is under court investigation.
Statement by Former Minister Robert Telus
Robert Telus said he had no knowledge of the sale of plot 87/1 in Zabłotnia and that none of his signatures appeared on any documents. He stated that if any part of the land is needed for the CPK, the sale contract and land deed allow immediate repurchase at the sale price, minimizing losses to the Treasury.
Defence from Previous Deputy Minister Rafał Romanowski
Rafał Romanowski, who has long advocated protecting state land from sale, emphasized that such property is a strategic national reserve that should be used for the benefit of future generations.
