A new Ipsos study in Poland reveals strong public support for the flexible work options offered by digital platforms and a desire to maintain choice in earning opportunities.
Polish Support for Platform Work is High
Poles overwhelmingly support flexible work arrangements offered by platforms and expect to maintain freedom in how they earn a living, according to a new Ipsos study conducted across 25 European countries.
Support for flexible platform work is particularly high in Poland compared to other countries surveyed. As many as 82% of respondents believe workers should have complete freedom to decide how much time and effort they dedicate to work.
Furthermore, 59% of respondents support maintaining access to flexible work through platforms.
Platform Work as Part of the Broader Labor Market
The study also examines how platform work is perceived within the broader labor market. Among Poles, it is widely seen as a complementary element of the economy.
A majority of respondents believe it coexists with the traditional labor market (39%) or supplements and fills gaps in it (47%). Platform work is also recognized as a way to earn additional income or adjust work patterns.
Who Benefits from Platform Work?
Opinions on who benefits from these arrangements highlight students (according to 76% of respondents), older workers seeking extra income (68%), and parents balancing work with childcare (75%) as the groups most likely to benefit from these opportunities.
