The incident began on 14 November when the fan page “Łączy nas piłka” posted a photo of President Nawrocki at the Poland vs. Netherlands match held at the PGE National Stadium. A user added a captioned image depicting a handgun with the remark “Do zobaczenia Karolku” (“See you, Karol”). Police responded immediately, noting that the gun photograph had been previously posted elsewhere and was used as a backdrop for the threatening comment.

Paweł Szefernaker, head of the President’s Office, commented via an interview with Wirtualna Polska, saying that such threats were not new and had increased after the elections. He described them as part of a “spiral of hate” aimed at undermining President Nawrocki’s office and the president’s position from day one.
