A car fleeing police on the S61 expressway near Łomża, Poland, collided with three police vehicles on Wednesday morning.
Pursuit Initiated After Vehicle Refused to Stop
The attempt to stop the vehicle occurred Wednesday before noon on the S61 expressway towards Suwałki, near Łomża. Police initiated a pursuit when the car did not comply with a traffic stop.
Three Police Cars Rammed During Escape Attempt
According to Police Sub-Commissioner Karolina Wojciekian, spokesperson for the Łomża City Police Headquarters, the fleeing driver rammed three police cars near the MOP Chomentowo rest area while attempting to evade capture.
Driver Apprehended, Condition of Officers Unknown
The driver was apprehended and was determined to be sober. The reason for non-compliance with police commands remains unknown. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
Two Officers Hospitalized
Two police officers were transported to the hospital for evaluation. Wojciekian reported that the officers were conscious when the ambulance departed.
Traffic Resumed After Initial Delays
Initial traffic disruptions at the scene have been cleared.
