Polish police in Podlaskie have dismantled a major drug network in Białystok, seizing more than 31 kg of narcotics worth nearly 1.54 million zlotys early this year.
Early 2024 Arrests in Białystok
Officers from the regional command began tracking the ring in January after noticing irregular activity in Białystok. The first suspect was detained in his apartment, where investigators found almost 420 g of amphetamine, nearly 60 g of 3‑CM, and over 14 g of non‑fibrous cannabis, kept in a freezer and cabinets.
He was charged with drug trafficking and jailed for three months.
Massive Seizure in Białystok Apartment
A subsequent raid uncovered more than 25 kg of amphetamine, almost 5 kg of 3‑CM, over 5 g of cocaine, and more than 800 g of non‑fibrous cannabis. A liter of liquid amphetamine, an unlicensed revolver, and 26 rounds of ammunition were also seized.
The suspect faced charges of introducing large quantities of narcotics into circulation and illegal firearms possession, and was held for another three months.
County‑Wide Raid Uncovers 13 Locations
Police entered 13 sites across the Podlaskie region, seizing mobile phones, laptops, notebooks, cash, and various drugs and psychotropic substances.
Ten people were arrested, charged with trafficking significant amounts of narcotics and participation in an organized crime group. Four were also suspected of operating in an armed group.
Police Neutralise Organised Crime Group
Six detainees were temporarily detained for three months following court decisions. The suspects are residents of Podlaskie, facing up to 15 years in prison for the alleged offences.
Financial Impact and Asset Seizures
The intensified operations prevented the circulation of more than 31 kg of narcotics across the country, valued at about 1,540,000 zlotys. Investigators also seized assets worth 60,000 zlotys.
