According to a police statement on X, the Traffic Department secured the publicly shared recording and initiated proceedings to determine if traffic laws were violated. A frame from the Kanał Zero program was included with the statement.

Police state that such investigations are generally not subject to separate announcements. They also assure that if materials indicating an offense are revealed, they “will take appropriate action regardless of who the case concerns and how it was publicized.”

Authorities emphasize that these types of investigations are usually routine and not subject to separate announcements, but “lack of communication does not mean a lack of reaction.”

Penalty for Phone Use While Driving

Polish traffic laws prohibit drivers from using handheld phones while driving. Violating this rule constitutes an offense punishable by a 500 złoty fine and 12 penalty points.
