Police Probe Nighttime Incident in Poland, No Worrisome Source Found

On November 15, Polish police investigated a loud noise reported near Podebłocie, concluding no hazardous source could be identified.

Woman Reports the Incident

At 21:43 on Wednesday, a woman living near the village of Podebłocie called the Garwolin Police Headquarters in Radom with reports of a loud sound that had occurred about 40 minutes earlier. She had been reluctant to report immediately, fearing the noise could have been a gas cylinder, stove, or traffic accident explosion.

Police Response and Patrol

At 21:45 a two‑person patrol went to investigate. While en route to Życzyn, the officers also checked the residence of an elderly woman whose family said they had not heard anything. They drove through the PKP Mika rail crossing, found no people or anything alarming, and paid special attention to possible smoke or fire but observed none.

Search of Nearby Villages

By 22:07 the patrol, together with the reporting woman, inspected the areas around Podebłocie, Piotrówek, Kozice, Życzyn, Wola Życka and Dębówka, as well as a nearby PKP Mika crossing. No origin of the sound was identified. At 22:15 a control KPP unit from Garwolin entered the Trojanów commune, checking the surrounding area on the assumption that the noise might have been a gas cylinder explosion.

No Trace of Rail Track Activity

Investigators stated that at no point, during the call or patrol, did the sound appear to come from the tracks; instead, witnesses pointed to nearby residential buildings. They added that, given the content of the report and findings during the intervention, the actions taken by the responding officers were appropriate.
