Polish police, including anti-terror units, conducted a raid in Warsaw, Radom, and Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship on Tuesday morning, arresting 11 individuals.
Police Operation Involving Black Hawk Helicopter
Police and anti-terrorist units carried out an operation related to economic crime in the area of the Army Krajowej grouping roundabout “Radosław” in Warsaw on Tuesday morning (April 7th). The information was provided by Radom Voivodeship Police spokesperson, Katarzyna Kucharska, who added that the operation was ordered by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Gliwice.
A police helicopter, a Black Hawk, was used during the operation, as first reported by TVN24, with footage showing the aircraft in action.
Minister Confirms Arrests
Minister of Interior and Administration Marcin Kierwiński confirmed that several dozen police officers, including BOA counter-terrorism units, entered several locations in Radom, Warsaw, and the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. Eleven people were arrested in connection with the production and distribution of prohibited substances in sports and medicinal products.
Details of the Operation
According to Radio ZET reporter Mariusz Gierszewski, the Black Hawk helicopter was stationed above Powązki Cemetery as early as 5:40 AM. Twenty minutes later, it deployed a team of BOA “urban alpinism” specialists onto the roof of a building at 2 Kłopot Street, anticipating potential escape routes for the suspects.
The operation took place in difficult weather conditions with strong winds, but BOA operators rappelled down ropes. Armed counter-terrorist officers were also present on the roof of the building at 2 Kłopot Street, and several unmarked vehicles were stationed in front of the building.
Police Spokesperson Statement
Katarzyna Nowak, director of the Public Communication Bureau of the Main Police Headquarters, informed PAP earlier in the morning that officers from the Radom Voivodeship Police were involved. The Radom command did not provide further information at that stage.
BOA Unit Involvement
TVN24 reported that the Central Counter-Terrorist Unit of the Police, BOA, participated in the operation. BOA is an elite unit tasked with combating terrorism, apprehending dangerous criminals, and conducting high-risk operations.
