Police Seize Over 100kg of Illegal Tobacco in Radom

Radom police confiscated more than 100kg of untaxed tobacco shreds during a raid on a property.

Discovery of Contraband

Radom officers specializing in combating economic crime discovered tobacco without Polish tax stamps on a property in the city. Police secured over 100 kilograms of tobacco shreds.

Raid and Arrest

On Thursday (29.01), officers from the Economic Crime Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Radom searched rooms used by a 68-year-old and found a cardboard box containing the contraband tobacco.

Legal Consequences

The owner of the illegal tobacco could face up to 3 years in prison according to current regulations. State treasury losses from unpaid tax were estimated at over 200,000 Polish złoty.
