Police Attempt to Arrest Man in Białystok

During a Wednesday operation in Białystok, officers from the Central Bureau of Cybercrime Operations sought to detain a 48‑year‑old man suspected of serious offenses, acting on a decision issued by the Białystok‑North District Prosecutor’s Office.

The officers were carrying out a probe into alleged possession and distribution of child pornography.

Shoots at Officers with Pneumatic Rifle

The suspect fired several shots from a pneumatic rifle at the officers with no warning. The shooting was accidental from the officers’ perspective, according to the Central Bureau of Cybercrime’s statement.

Two Officers Injured

Two police officers sustained wounds to the hand and thigh. Their lives were not at risk, and they received medical treatment following the incident.

Weapons Seized During Arrest

After subduing the suspect, police arrested him and seized a pink air gun, a crossbow, a bow, and other weapons. The suspect will face charges for the original offense, the attack on police, and possession of arms without proper permits.
