Polish Girl and Daughter Reported Killed

A spokesperson from the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maciej Wewiór, announced on social media that on the night of 18‑19 November, Russia attacked civilians in Tarnopol. Among the victims was 7‑year‑old Amelka, a Polish citizen, who was killed alongside her mother. The Polish embassy remains in constant contact with local authorities in Tarnopol.

Russian Attack on Tarnopol Details

By Wednesday, the death toll from the Russian strike had risen to 31. The attack was triggered by a Russian missile that struck a ground floor of an eight‑storey block, killing 26 people immediately. Subsequent search operations uncovered a woman and two children, bringing the total to 31 fatalities, including six children. A total of 94 people were wounded, some remaining in hospitals.

The Russian air force continues daily bombing campaigns against Ukrainian civilians. In a Thursday evening strike on Zaporizhzhia, five civilians were killed, and five others were wounded by drones.

Poland Calls for Silence

On Friday evening, former Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski spoke at the “Local Debates, Global Challenges” event in Szczecin. He urged Poland to recognize the tragedy, stating that the attack on Tarnopol, which killed the Polish girl Amelka and her mother, reminds the nation that it is part of the war. He appealed for a minute of silence in their memory.
