Polish citizens with vision impairments or eye conditions may qualify for a monthly care allowance of 215.84 zł, regardless of income.
Who is eligible for additional funds?
The care allowance aims to help cover the costs of care for individuals who cannot function independently. Support is dedicated to four main groups, including those with eye conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, or retinopathy.
According to regulations, there is no strict “list of diseases” that guarantees a monthly payment. The key factor is not the diagnosis itself but how severely the condition affects daily life.
The application process step by step
1. Prepare medical documentation. Note that a health certificate from your treating physician is valid for only 30 days from issuance to date of application submission.
2. Submit documents to the County Team for Disability Assessment. If the decision is negative, you have 14 days to appeal.
3. Apply to MOPS/GOPS. Once you have the assessment, apply for the allowance payment at your local municipality office or through the Emp@tia online portal.
How much is the allowance in 2026?
The current rate is 215.84 zł per month. Although this amount appears fixed, preliminary indications suggest a possible increase in the benefit in 2027.
Who will not receive support? (Important exclusions)
Unfortunately, not everyone is eligible for these funds. The money will not be paid out if the applicant does not meet the criteria for independent living assessment.
