Polish Citizens Arrested for Alleged Role in Czech Drone Factory Arson

Polish authorities arrested two citizens in Warsaw suspected of aiding in the arson of a drone factory in Pardubice, Czech Republic, in March 2026.

Czech Drone Factory Arson and Initial Response

On March 20, 2026, a fire occurred at a production hall belonging to LPP HOLDING, an arms sector company in Pardubice, Czech Republic, that collaborates with Israeli firm Elbit Systems on drone production. The fire caused significant damage to industrial infrastructure and property.

The extremist group “The Earthquake Faction” claimed responsibility for the arson, citing ideological motivations and a goal of influencing states and businesses cooperating with the Israeli arms industry.

Arrests and Investigation

On March 24, 2026, Polish Security Agency (ABW) officers arrested Aleksandra Ż., a Polish citizen. Filip B., another Polish citizen, was arrested on March 26, 2026.

The Warsaw Branch of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor’s Office initiated an investigation based on ABW materials regarding Polish citizens assisting in the fire at LPP HOLDING’s facility in Pardubice, which threatened substantial property damage. The act was characterized as terrorism, intended to intimidate and compel the Czech authorities to halt drone production for the Israeli army.

Charges and Detention

The prosecutor presented charges of aiding and abetting the commission of a prohibited act – causing a fire endangering property on a large scale – to the detainees. Both suspects denied the allegations.

On March 26 and 27, 2026, the Warsaw District Court ordered a three-month temporary arrest for both Aleksandra Ż. and Filip B. The case is ongoing.

Further Details and Potential Motives

The ABW investigation revealed the suspects are Polish citizens, 23-year-old Aleksandra Ż. and 22-year-old Filip B. The investigation is being conducted in cooperation with Czech prosecutors.

The suspects have been identified as pro-Palestinian activists. The attack was reportedly motivated by opposition to Israeli activity in Palestine.

Legal Consequences

The crime is punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment under relevant articles of the Polish Criminal Code.
