In the evening of Friday 7 November, two Polish tourists were killed when the vehicle they were travelling in overturned on a sand dune in Merzouga, Morocco.
Accident Details
The incident occurred in the Merzouga area of southeastern Morocco, during the evening of 7 November. Two Polish citizens were travelling in an off‑road vehicle that entered a sand dune, where it toppled.
Both occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.
Foreign Ministry Statement
The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the fatalities and said that work is underway to transport the bodies back to Poland.
Spokesperson Maciej Wewior reported that the consul is in contact with the families of the deceased.
Call for Caution
In an interview with Polsat News, Wewior urged Polish travellers abroad to exercise caution, emphasizing that freedom to travel does not absolve the need for vigilance.
