Polish Citizens Evacuated from Israel as Middle East Tensions Escalate

Polish foreign ministry reports all organized groups have left Israel for Egypt, with citizens also departing Jordan amid rising regional tensions.

The authorities of the United Arab Emirates have informed that persons who remain in the UAE will be provided with accommodation and meals until they leave the country. Meanwhile, Poles in Egypt will be able to return to Poland on their own using commercial flights.

Appeal from the Foreign Ministry Spokesperson

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson appealed to travel agencies to act responsibly and not offer trips to areas where there is a threat. He emphasized that information about the situation in the Middle East should be obtained from official communications.

When asked if Polish authorities plan to evacuate citizens who are still in the Middle East, the spokesperson stated: “We have plans for all contingencies.”

MSZ Statement on the Middle East

“Poland is watching the recent events in the Middle East region with concern and calls on all parties to exercise restraint, respect international law and protect civilian populations,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement published on Sunday.

“We continue to support peaceful methods of resolving conflicts in the Middle East and the issue of the Iranian nuclear program. Iranian society, recently painfully experienced political repression due to protests, deserves freedom, peace, stability and prosperity. We express solidarity with Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Oman, which have suffered due to the escalation of armed actions,” the ministry emphasized. The ministry noted that the priority remains ensuring the safety of Polish citizens in the Middle East region.

Radosław Sikorski at the Meeting of EU Foreign Ministers

On Sunday, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister Radosław Sikorski participated in an informal meeting of the foreign ministers of EU member states. The video conference meeting focused on the situation in the Middle East.

“In the discussion, the need was pointed out for the EU to maintain a uniform and strong message regarding the threat posed by the continuation of the Iranian nuclear program, de-escalation and solidarity with partners in the region affected by attacks from Iran, and support for the democratic aspirations of the Iranian people. The need for constant communication with the US was raised, especially due to the wider regional implications of the conflict,” it was stated in the MSZ communication.
