The President of Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal has formally requested Prime Minister Tusk publish 67 rulings issued between 2024-2026, citing obstruction.
Tribunal President Appeals to Prime Minister Tusk
In a letter sent Thursday, April 16th, Święczkowski stated that the Sejm, by selecting judges, affirmed the Constitutional Tribunal’s continued function in upholding the rule of law and protecting citizens’ rights, despite prior resolutions.
Święczkowski is demanding the immediate publication of the rulings, asserting there is “no pretext for refusal.”
67 Rulings Await Publication
The request concerns 67 rulings issued between 2024 and 2026, covering fundamental matters for citizens and the state. Święczkowski argues ignoring these rulings harms public interests.
He contends that the government’s failure to publish the rulings serves as a justification for ignoring them, negatively impacting citizens. He emphasized the need for respect for the rule of law and citizens.
Government’s Omission Criticized
Święczkowski asserted that the government must publish the rulings, citing the need for respect for the rule of law and citizens. He stated the Prime Minister’s inaction negatively impacts the legal, personal, and financial situations of thousands.

Jarosław Kaczyński has convened a meeting of PiS authorities to discuss a response to the situation, specifically whether to pursue a dual strategy or radicalize the party’s approach.
New Judges Assume Duties

Święczkowski expressed satisfaction that the parliamentary majority had fulfilled his appeals to complete the Tribunal’s composition with the two newly sworn-in judges. He noted that Prime Minister Tusk participated in the Sejm vote on their election, viewing it as a sign of respect for the Tribunal’s role.
He also announced that Magdalena Bentkowska and Dariusz Szostek have assumed their duties after taking the oath of office before the President.
