Polish Ferry Lines Unite Under New Brand, Polsca Baltic Ferries

Three Polish shipping companies—Unity Line, Polferries, and EuroAfrica—have joined forces under the Polsca Baltic Ferries brand, launching operations Monday.

New Polish Maritime Line Launches

A new Polish maritime line is set to begin operations on Monday, offering connections across the Baltic Sea.

Consolidated Ferry Operations

Polsca Baltic Ferries, a joint brand of Unity Line, Polferries, and EuroAfrica, will commence market activity on Monday. The company will operate connections between Poland and Sweden, utilizing a fleet of 11 ferries.

Collaboration for Increased Competitiveness

The collaboration between Polska Żegluga Morska (Unity Line), Hass Holding (EuroAfrica), and Polska Żegluga Bałtycka (Polferries) aims to consolidate their activities while maintaining legal independence and existing internal structures. This consolidation is intended to enhance the competitiveness of Polish operators in the Baltic Sea.

Integrated Sales and Network Activation

The company’s press office announced that integrated ticket sales, fleet management, and route networks will be fully functional from Monday, March 30th, under the Polsca Baltic Ferries banner.

Temporary Booking Restrictions

Unity Line and Polferries have announced that due to changes in pricing and the implementation of a new reservation system, online bookings for dates after March 29, 2026, are temporarily unavailable. They assure customers that efforts are underway to restore full system functionality, and reservations can be made via phone or email in the meantime. The companies apologized for the inconvenience.

Key Routes to Sweden

The new ferry connections will serve key routes between Poland and Sweden, including Świnoujście to Ystad and Trelleborg, and Gdańsk to Nynäshamn. Plans are also underway to launch a new route from Gdańsk to Karlshamn in the first half of the year.

Benefits for Customers

Customers will benefit from a single offer, a unified sales channel, and a more transparent connection structure due to the consolidation.

Cost Reduction and Efficiency Gains

“By combining sales, operations, and fleet management, we reduce costs and eliminate mutual competition on the same routes,” stated Paweł Pluto-Prądzyński, director of Unity Line’s Polish division. He noted instances of Polish operators’ ferries departing on the same routes in close succession, leading to inefficient fleet utilization.

Fleet Capacity and Expansion Potential

Polsca currently operates a fleet of 11 ro-pax ferries. The chairman of PŻB believes the combined potential of these vessels opens up opportunities for expansion into new markets and the launch of additional connections.

Streamlined Procedures for Cargo and Passengers

The consolidation will simplify procedures and improve support for supply chains between Poland and Scandinavia for cargo clients. Passengers will enjoy a wider range of cruises available in one place, and business partners will benefit from a unified cooperation model.
