Polish F‑16 and MiG‑29 fighters have repeatedly intercepted unidentified Russian aircraft over the Baltic Sea, a statement said the Operational Command for Armed Forces.
Intercepts over the Baltic
According to the Operational Command for Armed Forces, Polish F‑16 and MiG‑29 aircraft repeatedly intercepted Russian aircraft over the Baltic Sea. The unidentified planes were operating without flight plans and with transponders off, posing a real threat to air traffic safety. No aircraft crossed Polish airspace.
Action Adheres to NATO Procedures
The Command confirmed that all interventions followed the binding protocols of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Polish pilots conducted visual identification and escorted the foreign aircraft beyond the region of responsibility, as reported on platform X.
Defense System Operates 24/7
The Command reminded that the integrated Polish air defence system is 24/7 active and fully linked to NATO’s network. The Air Forces keep readiness for immediate response, continuously guarding Polish airspace and strengthening deterrence against real threats.
