Incident at Warsaw-Okęcie Airport
Border Guard officials intervened after a 23-year-old Polish national stated he had a bomb in his luggage during check-in for a flight to the Netherlands.
The report was triggered when ground staff, while asking about dangerous items, received the response: “I have a bomb in my luggage.”
Search and Confession
The passenger was isolated by Border Guard pyrotechnicians and, along with his luggage, was searched for dangerous items – the search yielded negative results.
The man later admitted his claim about the bomb was false and intended as a joke.
Penalty and Flight Denial
He was issued a 500 złoty fine under Article 210, paragraph 1, point 5a of the Aviation Law. The airline also denied him boarding the flight to Eindhoven.
