Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemns Iranian attacks on GCC countries, prioritizing safety of Polish citizens in the region.
Poland’s Official Position
The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement firmly condemning Iranian attacks targeting countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Poland considers attacks on non-conflict nations unjustified and notes they directly threaten the lives of tens of thousands of Polish citizens in the region, whose security is the country’s highest priority.
“We regret civilian casualties and casualties among our allied soldiers,” emphasized the MFA in its post on X.
International Diplomatic Efforts
Poland is actively participating in European and transatlantic coordination efforts, stated the Polish diplomatic ministry. “We hope Iran will cease to be a threat to its region and choose a path of law and peaceful coexistence,” the ministry emphasized.
Gulf Cooperation Council Background
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), also known as the Gulf Countries Council, was established on May 25, 1981, in Riyadh. It consists of six countries: Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates.
Military Escalation in the Region
The United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran on Saturday, with both countries stating the operations will continue in the coming days. In response, Iran has initiated attacks on Israel and other Middle Eastern countries, particularly targeting US military bases in the region.
