Polish Ministry of National Defense proposes salary increases for soldiers to take effect January 1, 2026.
Soldiers May Receive Raises
A draft regulation by the Minister of National Defense regarding the basic pay rates for professional soldiers appeared on the Government Legislation Center website on Tuesday, February 3. It is currently in the stage of inter-ministerial consultations and review.
According to the draft, the salaries of different pay groups will change as follows: senior officers will receive raises from 290 zł to 660 zł, junior officers from 270 zł to 280 zł, senior non-commissioned officers by 250 zł, junior non-commissioned officers from 220 zł to 230 zł, and enlisted personnel from 200 zł to 210 zł.
Salary Increase Impact
“Increasing the basic pay rates for professional soldiers will also result in an increase in the amounts of additional benefits for long-term military service. Therefore, when determining the amounts of basic pay, this increase was taken into account so that the total increase in basic pay and the benefit for long-term military service does not exceed the 2026 fund increase for pay,” informed the Ministry of National Defense.
Immediate Payment and Adjustment
The mentioned rates will be used to determine the basic pay of professional soldiers from January 1, 2026. This means that service personnel can expect adjustments. The payment of funds will be accelerated by the fact that the regulation will come into effect the day after its announcement.
Let us remind that the last rates were established in the Regulation of the Minister of National Defense of March 21, 2025.
