Łukasz Litewka was struck by a Mitsubishi Colt driven by a driver who reportedly fell asleep and crossed into the opposite lane, resulting in a head-on collision.
Despite immediate resuscitation efforts by paramedics, Łukasz Litewka was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 2:25 PM.

Litewka’s Background and Political Career
Born in Sosnowiec, Łukasz Litewka graduated with a degree in sociology from the University of Silesia in Katowice.
He served as a Sosnowiec councilor from 2014, representing the SLD-Lewica-Razem coalition, and was re-elected in 2018.
In 2019, he unsuccessfully ran for Sejm on the Social Democratic Alliance list. Following the transformation of SLD into the New Left, he became a member and was elected to Parliament in 2023.
Unexpected Electoral Success
In the 2023 parliamentary elections, Litewka secured a mandate from the New Left despite being placed last on the party list, surpassing even the party chairman, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, in votes.
