Left-wing MP Anna Maria Żukowska received formal reprimand after vulgar remark to conservative politician Sławomir Mentzen.
Mentzen on Charlie Kirk’s Death
Conservative politician Sławomir Mentzen condemned the September shooting of activist Charlie Kirk at a Utah university. He claimed Kirk was targeted for his conservative views and inability to tolerate freedom of speech. Mentzen criticized left-wing figures for celebrating Kirk’s death despite advocating for tolerance.
Żukowska’s Response and Consequences
In response, Żukowska posted “S***alaj” (equivalent to “f*** off”) on Mentzen’s statement. She also shared a video of Kirk downplaying a hammer attack on a democratic politician’s husband. The Parliamentary Ethics Commission reprimanded Żukowska in December for using profanity.
Charlie Kirk’s Controversial Positions
Kirk held conservative stances including advocating for women to “submit to their husbands” and making derogatory comments about Black people. He defended the Second Amendment by suggesting “a few deaths due to firearms annually” were acceptable. He also opposed abortion even for a hypothetical 10-year-old raped and impregnated.
