The Polish Sejm’s Presidium has sanctioned two PiS MPs, Dariusz Matecki and Michał Woś, for disrupting parliamentary proceedings on April 17th.
MPs Penalized for Disruption
The decision to penalize the MPs was made during a Monday (April 27th) meeting of the Sejm’s Presidium and announced by Sejm Marshal Włodzimierz Czarzasty the following day.
The penalties stem from disruptions during a Sejm session.
Nature of the Penalties
Darius Matecki and Michał Woś have each been fined half of their monthly salary for a period of three months.
Incident Involving Matecki and Woś
On April 17th, Dariusz Matecki approached the Sejm rostrum with a sign displaying a photo of Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Kamila L., a former member of the Civic Coalition convicted in the Kłodzko pedophile affair, along with the slogan “Just don’t tell anyone.”
Michał Woś subsequently joined Matecki, carrying another sign related to the Kamila L. case. Attempts were made by Civic Coalition MPs to remove the signs.
Marshal Czarzasty requested the MPs maintain order, but Matecki and Woś did not comply, leading to their exclusion from the session.
Kamila L.’s Conviction
On March 19th, the District Court in Świdnica sentenced Kamila L. to six and a half years in prison for failing to assist a minor victim of sexual abuse and for animal abuse.
The court determined she witnessed zoophilic acts committed by her husband, who was previously sentenced to 25 years in prison for rape and other crimes.
