During a meeting in Piotrków Trybunalski on April 26th, Przemysław Czarnek advised young people not to delay starting families despite housing challenges.
Czarnek Addresses Housing Crisis, Prioritizes Family Formation
Przemysław Czarnek met with residents of Piotrków Trybunalski on Sunday, April 26th. A participant questioned his plan to address housing accessibility for young people.
Czarnek responded that housing policy undoubtedly influences family formation and birth rates, but housing isn’t everything.
“Don’t Wait, Start Families,” Czarnek Says
“Let’s explain to our children, to our youth: don’t wait for what will be, just start families. You won’t survive without families, even if you have six apartments. Don’t put it off,” he stated.
Egoistic Mindset Hinders Family Planning
Przemysław Czarnek argued that an egoistic mindset has permeated the thinking of young people.
He noted that many young people hear from their families, “finish your studies, get an education, see the world, earn money, buy an apartment, then start a family.” He lamented that this often leads to delaying family formation until one’s forties.
Czarnek attributed this trend to a “strongly egoistic” approach that has, unfortunately, taken root in the minds of young people – a fault he acknowledges lies with their elders.
Government Role in Facilitating Family Life
The PiS candidate for prime minister emphasized that the state should create conditions conducive to starting families, with affordable housing being one such condition.
He suggested changes to mortgage lending practices, including fixed-rate mortgages, and the development of cooperative housing and alternative homeownership options.
Cultural Factors are Paramount
Czarnek added that the issue is “primarily cultural, and immaterial.” He posited that if previous generations had delayed starting families due to a lack of housing or stable employment, few would be present today.
Cenckiewicz Endorses Czarnek
Sławomir Cenckiewicz, former head of the National Security Bureau, was a special guest at the meeting in Piotrków Trybunalski.
He stated he attended to support Przemysław Czarnek, to help him gain power for Polish patriots.
Echoes of “Hubal” and a Call for Patriotism
Referring to the anniversary of the death of Major Henryk Dobrzański “Hubal” (April 30th), Cenckiewicz quoted his words: “I will not surrender my weapon, I will not take off my uniform.”
Cenckiewicz asserted that Przemysław Czarnek is an heir to those words, having achieved much in his life and dedicated himself to regaining power from an “anti-Polish government.” He relayed that President Karol Nawrocki encouraged him to support Czarnek.
