Polish parliament calls for urgent regulations on child influencers

Poland’s parliamentary commission is analyzing regulations for children’s earnings on social media since mid-2024.

Parliamentary Commission Analysis

The Sejm’s Commission for Children and Youth has been analyzing issues of protecting children’s images and their income-generating activities in digital media since mid-2024.

During the last Sejm meeting, the commission considered a response from the Ministry of Labor to a resolution on this matter.

Ministry Acknowledges Complexity

The Ministry of Family, Labor, and Social Policy does not question that the problem exists. In its position, it admits that “children’s work online” is a complex issue requiring in-depth analysis.

The Ministry points out that current regulations – especially Article 304⁵ of the Labor Code – do not directly address children’s activities in social media.
