Polish Police Bust Drug Lab, Seize Over 100kg of Narcotics

Żyrardów police dismantled an illegal drug laboratory and two storage facilities, confiscating over 100 kilograms of drugs and precursors for a ton more.

Drug Lab and Storage Facilities Raided

Żyrardów criminal investigators dismantled an illegal drug laboratory and two storage facilities used for storing narcotics. Police seized over 100 kilograms of drugs and precursors capable of producing up to a ton of narcotics.

Information obtained by the Żyrardów police criminal department indicated the possible operation of a professionally organized laboratory for the production and storage of drugs within Żyrardów.

Two Suspects Detained

The investigation led to the arrest of a 36-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman on Tuesday, March 17th, in Żyrardów. The man was apprehended leaving one of his storage facilities.

A search of the facility revealed approximately 15 kilograms of marijuana, 14 kilograms of another prohibited substance, and over one kilogram of cocaine.

Laboratory Yields Significant Quantities

Further operational activities led investigators to additional locations linked to the man’s activities. A clandestine laboratory for drug production was discovered, containing over 100 kilograms of psychotropic substances and liquids used in the production process.

Authorities estimate the seized precursors could have yielded approximately one ton of narcotics. Due to the high concentration of dangerous fumes and the presence of large quantities of chemicals, specialists from the Forensic Laboratory of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Radom were deployed.

Evidence Collection and Further Arrest

For several days, officers secured the scene, collected samples, and documented the evidence.

The following day, police also arrested a 27-year-old woman from Żyrardów, who faces charges of aiding and abetting the crime by providing a location for illegal activities. She faces up to 20 years in prison.

Charges and Precautionary Measures

The 36-year-old man has been charged with producing narcotics and possessing significant quantities of drugs. A temporary arrest warrant was issued against him by the Żyrardów District Prosecutor’s Office. He also faces up to 20 years in prison.

The investigation is ongoing, and further arrests are not ruled out.
