Police Reject the Incident as False
The Kraków police responded on Tuesday, stating: “We firmly deny this information! No such event occurred in Kraków or the surrounding Małopolska region. Sensational posts spread quickly online; we urge: DO NOT SPREAD DISINFORMATION!”
Police Advises on Verifying Sources
Officials urged the public to check the origin of each piece of information. They recommended confirming whether a source is an official police account or a reputable news outlet, and to look for coverage by other reliable media before sharing.
Government Warns Against Disinformation Campaigns
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration warned that in areas with many Ukrainian migrants, Russia attempts to portray them as a threat and incite ethnic conflicts.
