Mława Criminal Police conducted raids in Mława and Działdowo counties on March 18th, confiscating contraband cigarettes worth over 430,000 Polish Złoty.
Crackdown on Illegal Tobacco Trade
Mława police initiated operations targeting the illegal trade of tobacco products lacking Polish excise stamps.
Officers inspected designated locations within the Mława and Działdowo counties.
Significant Contraband Discovery
Searches of premises in Mława, residential spaces, basements, and several vehicles revealed over 16,000 packs of various cigarette brands without the required excise stamps.
The seized goods are estimated to be worth over 430,000 Polish Złoty.
Additional Items Seized & Arrests Made
Police also recovered over 55,000 Polish Złoty, several mobile phones, a GSM signal jammer, and other items potentially linked to criminal activity and serving as evidence.
A 39-year-old resident of Mława county and her 30-year-old partner were arrested, suspected of storing the contraband.
Potential Penalties & Ongoing Investigation
Under the Penal Fiscal Code, this type of offense carries a substantial fine, restriction of freedom, or, in serious cases, imprisonment of up to 3 years.
The Mława Police Command is continuing the investigation.
